The latest update on Veena Malik is that she has been threatened by the Taliban. Right now, she is in India working in some show for the World Cup.
4 days ago, she received a letter & its legitimacy has been confirmed. Ahmed Masood of Taliban has sent this letter. They plan to give her exemplary punishment. They have also threatened to harm her family.
However, Veena Malik said that she will not run away & she’s going to come back to Pakistan. At the moment, India is providing her security.
It seems insulting Veena on national TV was not enough. They are after her life. They believe they have the right to punish just anyone who is not like them. I’m so sorry to say but I don’t like reporting about my country. I find it all very embarrassing. Salman Taseer’s death was the final blow. No one is safe in this country. More importantly, you don’t have the right to think & speak your mind. There is just no bloody fucking hope.
I think Veena Malik is a courageous woman & I just hope they don’t harm her. This is so low they are even threatening her family. This is beside the point but I don't think much of the liberals who came out in her support once she defended herself. I don't think they have the balls to say what she said to Mufti sahab on TV.
