A few men took up the task to create awareness for sexual assault violence against women by walking a mile in shoes.
'Walk A Mile In Her Shoes' event was celebrated for the fourth year at the University of Alaska Anchorage by men who walked a mile in stilettos trying to raise money for a local non profit organization that supports sexual assaults and other acts of violence against women.
The men said that though it had some light humor attached to it and they were tripping over due to the stilettos but they were genuinely supporting the cause as they care about women and their safety.
I think it was a cute idea for such a strong issue. They did it reasonably well. There should be awareness, acceptance and discussion on sexual assault and violence against women openly. It is through these events that people can get to know about these horrifying realities and at the same time the female victims would feel some comfort that the world does support and care for them.
