10 Reasons Why You Should Get a Dog Instead of a Facelift

American women underwent over 9 million cosmetic procedures last year. Americans spent almost $10.5 billion on cosmetic intervention in 2009. And at that same time 2 million dogs were euthanized in the country.

These are 10 reasons why a person should get a dog instead of a facelift:

1. They offer a lifetime of love & nothing could actually be compared to that love. They just make a place in your heart.

2. They are cheaper. It’s pretty obvious…maintaining & looking after a dog is far cheaper than a facelift.

3. They make you happier & it’s good for your health to have a pet.

4. They often have better breath. A puppy's breath is special and sweet; your plastic surgeon's breath is a crapshoot.

5. They can be your hang-out buddy.

6. They won’t cause talking behind your back. They say people won't mock and sneer at you behind your back if you get a dog. But I think people will talk behind your back.

7. They fetch - You can teach your dog to do tricks & that is hard work but also fun.

8. You can cuddle up with your pet & feel a lot better.

9. They aren’t nearly as risky

10. And last but not least, they care.

Please help ban the cruel and painful way of euthanasia at animal shelters throughout the United States known as Heartsticking*. Dogs and cats are denied basic care and are put to sleep using Heartstick* & Gassing (both cause a slow, painful, stressful death) methods. These forms of cruel euthanasia are banned in most states. They are considered to be cruel and inhumane by the Humane Society of the United States.

*Intracardial injections, commonly referred to as "heart sticks," are considered inhumane and cruel when performed on animals that aren't anesthetized or comatose. Using the "heart stick" method is painful because the needle containing sodium pentobarbital - a schedule II controlled substance used to euthanize animals - passes through the chest wall and several layers of muscle before puncturing the heart. If the euthanasia substance isn't carefully and accurately administered, an animal's lungs could be punctured, causing them to fill with fluid, a cruel and painful way to die.

Intracardial injections are difficult to administer effectively on fully conscious animals because in the animal, the lungs and the heart are constantly moving, said Dr. Bonnie Beaver, a veterinarian and professor of veterinary medicine who is considered a euthanasia expert by the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Another case of honor killing

Well I just read this story of a 20 year old girl named Noor al-Maleki who had been killed by her father. His jeep rolled over her & not just that, he even injured the other woman Khalaf.

Noor was living with Khalaf & she knew this lady ever since her childhood days. Noor’s parents did not like her American ways. You know the typical things that she shouldn’t wear make-up, tight jeans & such things. They also wanted her to marry a man in Iraq. Her father was mad at her when she got involved with Khalaf’s son. Even her father warned Khalaf that something bad would happen if Noor continued to live with her.

Faleh al-Maleki had been convicted of killing his daughter & committing assault against Khalaf. According to the defense attorney, Faleh just wanted to spit on Khalaf & accidentally ran over the 2 women. This is unbelievable. You are about to spit on someone & the next minute you actually kill your child & seriously injured the other person.

Anyway, this has been characterized as a brutal case of honor killing. This particular girl had been killed in America.

It has been reported that 5000 such killings occur worldwide & experts believe the real number is much higher than 5000. In many cases, you don’t even get to know about the deceased. If a family thinks that a woman has tarnished the image of the family, they believe they have the right to kill that woman.

It’s strange that people live in another country, raise their kids over there & then expect them to marry someone in Iraq or Afghanistan & can’t stand their way of dressing. Honor killing is something that happens every day in our country. Some people actually are living corpses. To them killing their own children is no big deal.

The story of Madeleine

Madeleine McCann was barely 4 year old when she was abducted by a pedophile gang & she could now be in America. She went missing in 2007 during a family holiday. She was smuggled out of Portugal.

Maddie have been sighted in North America, Tasmania, Dubai since her disappearance in 2007. It is believed that she could have been taken to US, but no one knows anything for sure. She was hardly 4 when she was kidnapped from her family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in the Algarve on 3^rd May 2007 as her parents were dining with friends nearby.

I’m so sorry to say but how could parents possibly leave a child behind when they are on a vacation? This sounds quite irresponsible on the part of parents. Just come to think about it, if Madeleine is really alive right now, she must have been raped a number of times by that gang. We are not here to lay the blame, but some people have been reckless.

Despite a massive police investigation & huge publicity worldwide, Maddie has not been found as yet.

Her parents will soon be publishing a book about Maddie’s disappearance. It was supposed to hit the shops on 28^th April, but due to the royal wedding on the 29^th, this has been put off. It will be published on 12^th May & this is day when Maddie will turn 8. The book is written by the parents (Kate McCann & Gerry McCann) & is simply entitled Madeleine.

We just hope that this pedophile gang is arrested, cause they must be kidnapping kids & destroying their lives. And we also hope that the McCanns find out about their child. Only parents who have lost kids must know what kind of torment it is.
