Royal Couple Doesn't Want Any Wedding Gifts

Prince William and his soon to be bride Kate Middleton have asked their wedding guests and well wishers for donations for a special charitable fund instead of giving them any wedding gifts. St. James Palace has announced this news.

The couple thought about it and have selected 26 charities falling in five different categories - children, arts and sports, conservation, service personnel, help and care at home. The guests can donate to any charity they like through the website: www.royalweddingcharityfund.org/.

Most of the charities are very small and they need donations to operate well and continue their noble cause. The list of charities includes anti-bullying group, a dance group, a charity for army widows and Earthwatch - a community of scientists and environmentalists. Some of them work with disadvantaged young people while some are based in Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

It seems William has taken this compassionate side from his late mother, Princess Diana who despite of her troubled life always went out of her way to help the unfortunate and less privileged beings around the world. It is said that both Kate and William have been associated with charity work before. This was something different and I didn't really expect a kind announcement of the sort from the royal family. And I guess with Prince Andrew's shameless history, such kindness and consideration would be quite a delightful thought for the Britain and the royal family members.

Royal wedding: Kate Middleton is urged to spurn her 'too sexy' Brazilian designer

Kate Middleton is advised to wear a bridal gown by a British designer when she marries Prince William.

Kate Middleton will not be the first commoner to marry a future king
Some people are suggesting that Kate Midleton should get her wedding gown from a British couturier Photo: Eddie Keogh/Reuters
Kate Middleton is rapidly discovering that royal wedding planning is a collective enterprise. For her bridal gown, she favours the Brazilian designer Daniella Helayel, but Prince William's fiancée is being strongly urged by palace officials to use a British couturier.
"Kate has been advised that while Helayel makes stunning cocktail dresses, her designs are too sexy for a royal wedding," says my man with the tailor's scissors. "The Royal family believes that we should support British talent whenever it is possible."
Viscountess Linley, who married the son of Princess Margaret in 1993, has joined the officials in suggesting that Kate should buy British.
"My wedding dress was designed by Bruce Robbins," says the wife of Viscount Linley at a party in Belgravia to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Linley, the furniture firm owned by her husband. "He was known for his work with Marks & Spencer."
Does she think that Kate will opt for a British designer? "I hope so," says Lady Linley, whose daughter, Margarita, eight, is expected to be a bridesmaid at the wedding.
Bruce Oldfield, who designed Samantha Cameron's wedding dress, is understood to be among the leading contenders, along with Alice Temperley and Dame Vivienne Westwood.
Her use of Oldfield, who was a favourite of Diana, Princess of Wales, would increase the comparisons between Kate and William's late mother.
However, she has already happily accepted the engagement ring that Diana was given by William's father, the Prince of Wales, and described her as "an inspirational woman to look up to on this day".
For the engagement announcement, Kate wore a blue dress by Helayel, whose label is called Issa. Yesterday, the Brazilian, whose dresses have been worn by Kate for some years, said she was keen to be chosen for the bridal gown.
"I would be so nervous," said the publicity-loving Helayel. "Maybe I should start making it now. We are very thrilled with the engagement news. It's fantastic and we wish Kate and William all the best. I am very happy. She is a very pretty and lovely girl – and I am happy that she wears Issa. I just think she wears clothes very well."

George Michael Recorded A Song As A Wedding Gift For William and Kate

George Michael, who is not really invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding has recorded a version of Stevie Wonder's song for the couple.

George Michael was very close to Prince Diana and so although he was not invited to the wedding, he made a cover of the 1972 romantic track 'You and I' for William and his would be wife.

The track will be released as a free download but Michael has requested fans to make a donation to charitable fund set up by Prince William and Kate Middleton. It took him two days to record the song and it is his way to express his wishes and happiness at their marriage.

George said, 'I am absolutely sure Diana would have loved the whole thing. I really hope she would have loved this track. I have a feeling she would have done.'

He added further, 'I want Will and Kate to know that this is a genuine gift, not a promo exercise.'

Sweet of George Michael and how mean of the Royal Family that they never even invited him to the wedding.

British People Want Prince William To Take Over The Throne

The British are just way too excited about the Royal Wedding that has to take place on the 29th of April. They are talking a lot about the Royal family, Kate and Prince William, remembering his late mother Diana, making comparisons between Diana and Kate and much more.

On the same lines, 2000 adults of UK participated in a survey conducted by the Sunday Times that shows how the British people want the Queen to abdicate the throne and Prince William should be the new king.

One in three British want the Queen to abdicate within the next two years. 59% of the participants favored that they wanted Prince William to ascend the throne instead of Prince Charles. While 33% of the UK adults want the Queen to give the throne in two years time.

The younger women in particular supported Prince William the most.

Well, I particularly don't have much interest in the Royal family of Britain. Princess Diana was the only person who was charming enough to get attention. Anyhow, I do feel for the sake of mankind, in the name of excitement, to kill the boredom - the Queen must just leave the throne now.

Everybody is absolutely tired of watching her. Let the men take over for once! Whether Charles or William - it is up to them!

Kate Middleton's Look Alike Doll Launched Today

Hamleys - the toy shop launched the limited edition of 'Princess Catherine Engagement Doll' today. The doll resembles Kate Middleton as the designers have matched intricate details such as her blow dry, her blue Issa dress and her big Hollywood smile.

Seven British fashion designers have worked together to dress and accessorize the doll. Wow this blue doll is utterly sad and demented. Looks a bit freaky too. I have seen better dolls for sure.

Yesterday, I read an article on Prince Charles and how he is following and understanding Islam to bridge the gap. He said unity can only be achieved through diversity. Quite a statement.

I was amazed to see how the youth of England hated Charles and the royals. Their comments were too open and straight from the heart.

The royals are just a big phony from their lives to their dolls.
